Dots Bay House in Hiriketiya Beach, first opened its doors in December of 2015, with a single shipping container and five simple rooms as its accommodation. Now recognized as one of the must-stay locations on Sri Lanka’s south coast, Dots has evolved into a lively, creative collective of multi-use spaces spread across its own little corner of paradise.

Dots was designed with the idea of providing something for everyone—and beyond that, introducing guests to entirely new experiences, as well as new faces. Focused on fostering and maintaining an open, relaxed atmosphere, Dots is an environment to mingle in: to interact with people you might not usually pass an afternoon with, and to share and leave with stories that bring you a wider understanding and knowledge of not only yourself, but the world around you. In short, Dots is a place that people come back to.

We pride ourselves on being a locally-owned, sustainably-minded resort. We have set a community example by being the first plastic-free operation in the area, as well as serving organic and locally sourced food, and we continue to hold ourselves to a high standard of eco-consciousness. We are devoted to celebrating our unique natural environment in any way we can.

Our Social & Community Responsibility

Along with providing unique and memorable guest experiences, Dots stands by a commitment to serve the local community. As we grow, we continue to be conscious of managing the rising impact of tourism on our local area. This pledge of responsibility takes action in varied forms: for one, our staff of nearly 40 is made up of mostly locals. We work closely with the local temple and school, donating money and helping build on various projects. We have cultivated an organic farm, The Tiny Farm House, and we plan to shift towards supplying all of our own produce as our farm matures and flourishes. We are proud of our involvement and continue to create and host events that celebrate local vendors, promote plastic-free awareness, and give back to the community that has raised us.
